The Great Indoors

In 2003. One day, I was working on paintings of the nightmares, when I noticed an irritating beam of light coming in through my window, making it hard for me to see what I was doing. It was being reflected from trash piles of plastic bottles across the street, and suddenly I realized, “That’s exactly the same form I’m working on, full of complex curves.” I thought, “Maybe I should see if I can make the nightmares three-dimensional.”
